What We Do

About Us

We are Malays living and working in Melbourne. The purpose of this group is to serve as a platform for the Malays in Melbourne to share information, updates, networking, provide assistance to newcomers and help one another in times of need. We strive to uphold and promote our values, culture and our identity as Malay Muslims living in Australia through social, educational and economic programs.

We are a non-profit community group, Malay Council of Victoria has no affiliation with any political party, religious group or government agency.

Formed in Dec 2017, the main objectives of the Malay Council of Victoria (MCoV) are to:

Promote and preserve the Malay Muslim cultural heritage and identity.
Promote interaction, cooperation and harmony with similar Malay organisations and the wider communities in Victoria and Australia.
Promote the Malay language, culture, values and customs.
Foster close relationships among Malays residing in Victoria through social,
educational, and economic activities.
Promote multiculturalism, hence fostering understanding and harmony between
the Malay community and the Australian society.
Support the Malay community to excel and contribute to the Australian society.
Represent the interests and concerns of Malays in Australia.
Assist new arrivals of Malay descent in Victoria to adapt to the Australian way
of life.
